Mrs. Mercado’s Behavior Management Plan
It's simple really... Work Hard and Be Nice!
To create this environment, we have developed a positive behavior support program called “P.A.W.S.” All UGE Panthers are expected to demonstrate PAWS behavior while at school.
“P.A.W.S” stands for:
P-Prepare
A-Act Responsibly
W-Work Together
S-Show Respect
Incentives to increase positive behavior:
“PAWSitive Parties”: These celebrations will occur quarterly (each 9 weeks) and students will by invited to attend by earning 85% of their possible “PAWS Points" (earned each day the student loses no more than 1 dojo point).
“P.A.W.S” Tickets: Students who receive “P.A.W.S.” passes will place their name in a special container for weekly drawings. Students whose names are drawn will receive special opportunities to celebrate, including incentives, activity opportunities, and school-wide recognition on the morning announcements.
PAWS Award: End of the year award celebrating the students who not only set good examples for themselves but for their classmates and school.
*If your child causes severe disruptions (i.e. fighting, defiance) he or she will be sent to the office immediately.
Your child will spend the first week of school learning classroom routines, reviewing 3rd grade skills, and participating in class building and team building activities. These may be new to your child at first but I am sure your child will become confident about what is expected of him or her as the week goes by.
Your support and encouragement at home will be of great benefit to your child’s progress in this area. By working together, we will help your child have a successful year in fourth grade.
